For Filipinos, a traditional Holy Week consists of confessions, prayers, way of the cross and a time for relaxation. Holy Week is a time for family to join together and have quality times with the heavenly father and once again remember his sacrifice for us.

The Tabor Hills is formed by the OAD or the Order of the Discalced Agustinians (OAD). They also have a display on relics , saints and even a display on the amazing shroud of Tourin.

“The shroud, a cloth measuring 14 feet x 3 1/2 feet, is believed to be the one used to wrap around the body of Jesus when he was brought down from the cross.

The linen was bloodstained and shows faint, neutral and dorsal images of a man who, by the wounds that are visible, appears to have been crucified.”

The site is also overwhelming because it is surrounded by trees. If you have a difficult time jogging around your way during the stations, you can always rest at a nearby chairs or canteens.

The earthquake in Chile affected everybody around the world. Even in philippines. certain tsunamis were predicted. Chile’s earthquake magnitute was around 8.8 which is so close to a 10. Its a horible incident and has damged infrastructures. Tsunami was also expected to hit The Philippines, Japan and Hawaii. The earthquake is the strongest that hit earth ever.

CNN reported a preliminary death of more than 300 people. It is said to be 800 times stronger than the quake that struck Haiti which kills thousands of people.

Natural disasters are unexpected occurrence. The best thing that we could do is to prepare  before it happens. Its such a teriifying experience to see this on the news and think that a lot of people are greatly affected by the earthquake. Chile also marked 3 mourning days of national mourning for the hundreds of victims of the massive earthquake. Hundreds of people died during the earthquake, but slowly they are trying to recover. More prayers for those families who were greatly affected by the incident

There are several reason why you should visit Cebu. This includes the powdery white beaches, the people, its culture, the churches and most especially the Sinulog Festival. Every year the Cebuanos celebrates Sinulog to thank Sto. Nino for all his blessings. This is done through dancing on the streets and prayers.

The Sinulog is an annual festival held on the third Sunday of January in Cebu City, Philippines. The festival honors the child Jesus, known as the Santo Niño (Holy Child), patron of the city of Cebu. It is a dance ritual that commemorates the Cebuano peoples Islamic and pagan origin, and their acceptance of Christianity.

The festival features a street parade with participants in bright colored costumes dancing to the rhythm of drums, trumphets and native gongs. Smaller versions of the festival are held in various parts of the province, also to celebrate and honor the Santo Niño. There is also a “Sinulog sa Kabataan” performed by the youths of Cebu a week before the parade. Recently, the festival has been promoted as a tourist attraction, with a contest featuring contingents from various parts of the country. The Sinulog Contest is usually held in the Cebu City Sports Complex.

There is also a Sinulog sa Kabataan, which is performed by the youths of Cebu a week before the Grand Parade.

Recently, the cultural event has been commercialized as a tourist attraction and instead of traditional street-dancing from locals; Sinulog also came to mean a contest highlighting groups from various parts of the country. The Sinulog Contest is traditionally held in the Cebu City Sports Complex, where most of Cebu’s major provincial events are held.
